GLADYS IRENE
OLSON was born February 24, 1917 in Sunberry, Iowa, the daughter of William and Hulda (Hamann) Tank. She was a 1933 graduate of Reinbeck High School. Gladys married Walter E. Olson on April 23, 1937 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1980. They farmed north of Cedar Falls for many years, and Gladys was a cook at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. Gladys died Sunday, February 20, 2000 at Cedar Falls Healthcare Center, at 82 years of age.
She is survived by her son, Donald E. Olson of Waterloo, Iowa, and her daughter, Joann Robinson and her husband Ray of Janesville, Iowa; five grandchildren, Barbara Robinson of Cedar Falls, Beverly Bahlmann and her husband Brian of Plainfield, Iowa, Candace Olson, Brenda Robinson of Janesville and Wyatt Olson of Denver, Colorado.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband and parents; two brothers, Arthur and Lester Langmann, and a sister, Norma Tank in infancy.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Adults Incorporated, 3420 University Ave., Waterloo, Iowa 50701.
