GILBERT LAGESCHULTE was born March 24, 1914 in Bremer County, Iowa the son of William & Rosina (Priebe) Lageschulte. He married Dorothy Rommel May 24, 1940 at Readlyn, Iowa. Gil was a machine operator for over 30 years at John Deere retiring in 1973. He died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls at the age of 89 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Waterloo, one daughter, Carolyn (Richard) Scobee, of New Hartford, two grandsons and three great grandsons. Gil was preceded in death by his parents, a stillborn daughter, Anna Marie, his brother, Ralph Lageschulte and his sister, Mildred Lageschulte.
A Memorial service was 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2003, at Nazareth Lutheran church with burial at 10:00 a.m. in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christian Crusaders.
