Gertrude Byggere

Gertrude Byggere, 96, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday, December 27 2013, at her home in Cedar Falls, She was born November 5, 1917 in Fulda, Minnesota, the daughter of James and Alyce (Schwab) McCormick. Gertrude married Harvey Byggere January 19, 1946 in Worthington,Minnesota. He preceded her in death December 24, 2009. She attended St. Gabrielle School and Fulda High School and the Minneapolis Business College. She worked for IDS in Minneapolis, Minnesota and J.S. Latta Company, Cedar Falls, for thirty years and also worked at John Deere in Waterloo. Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Mary (Gordon Pint) Byggere, of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Joseph McCormick. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
