GERALD "GERRY" DEAN
JOHNSON, 55, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Gerry was born February 18, 1949 at Waterloo, Iowa the son of Clarence G. and Matilda L. (Lauterbach) Johnson. He married Peggy Kay Hain on July 22, 1977 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Gerry graduated from Allison High School in 1967 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1971. He was a comptroller for Martin Bros. Distributing in Cedar Falls for over 21 years and since 1977 was a C.P.A. working out of his home. Gerry also farmed for many years in Butler County, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Cedar Falls; his children, Krystle, Kourtney and Griffin Johnson, all of Cedar Falls; his mother, Matilda Johnson of Allison, Iowa; a brother, Randal (Marj) Johnson of Clarksville, Iowa; two sisters, Mavis (Steve) Wicks of Allison and Carol (Dennis) Wilcox of Madrid, Iowa; his uncles and aunts, and many cousins.
Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Clarence G. Johnson, and a brother, Ronald Johnson.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
