Gerald Bowman

Gerald Bowman, 83, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly of Kiowa, Kansas, died Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.  He was born June 7, 1934 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Edgar & Viva (Cyrus) Bowman.  Gerald married Darlene Best August 1, 1953 in Pontiac.  He worked for the water department in Bloomfield Township, Michigan.  He will be greatly missed as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Darlene Bowman, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Kenneth Lee Bowman of Milford, Michigan and James William Bowman of Purvis, Mississippi, two daughters, Connie Sue Jones of Hutchinson, Kansas and Gail (Pete) Murfey of Cedar Falls, Iowa; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald Bowman, Jr.; two brothers and five sisters.

Services will be held in late spring of 2018 in Kiowa, Kansas.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is assisting the family.
