GEORGE JUNGLING was born August 29, 1931 in Butler County, Iowa, the son of Henry and Albertdena (Tjebkes) Jungling. He married Donna Peters on September 2, 1949 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She preceded him in death on May 7, 1996. George worked for Cedar Lumber Company in Cedar Falls for 26 years and the University of Northern Iowa for 15 years. He died Saturday, September 21, 2002, at his home in Cedar Falls, at 71 years of age.
George is survived by his children, Doug Jungling, Connie Schuerman and her husband Jim and Ken Jungling and his wife Carmen, all of Cedar Falls, and Kathie Weinfurtner and her husband Paul of Blair, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Jolynn, Dan, Joe, Karen and Sheri; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Catherine Johnston of Waterloo, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; three brothers, Henry, John and Albert Jungling, and two sisters, Annie Osborn and Grace Nielsen.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
