GEORGE S. BLAKE, 67, of Waterloo, Iowa and formerly of Oelwein, died of natural causes on Thursday, November 27, 2003, at his home at Country View Care Center. He was born January 31, 1936, in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Percival and Clara (Wheeler) Blake. George married Helen Neal on October 19, 1957 in Independence, Iowa. They were later divorced. He was a 1953 graduate of Stanley High School in Stanley, Iowa and was a farmer for several years near Oelwein. George is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia Ann Blake of Bradenton, Florida and Karla Jean Alverez of West Palm Beach, Florida; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Robert (Janice) Blake of Evansdale, Iowa, and two sisters, Mary (Ed) Reed of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Evelyn Kerns of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerald and Tom Blake, and two sisters, Irma Blake and Bernadine B. Finical. Graveside committal services were 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2003, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein.   A memorial fund will be established.
