Gene Turner

Gene Edward Turner, 56, of Janesville, Iowa, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 in an automobile accident near Janesville. Gene was born November 26, 1960 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Verne & Evelyn (Sands) Turner. He received his B.A. degree in Philosophy from the University of Northern Iowa. Gene was a medic and caretaker for Goodwill Industries. His favorite pastimes were traveling, fishing in Minnesota and painting scenery.

Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Turner; one brother, Scott Allen Turner; his nephew, Jason (Alexis) Turner; his great niece, Wilemina, all of Cedar Falls and numerous cousins.

Gene was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Don & Dean Turner.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials will be designated by the family at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
