Gary R. Klapprodt, 68, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born January 26, 1941 in Sublette, Illinois, the son of Glen and Esther (Byers) Klapprodt. Gary married Shirley Anderson on April 11, 1970 in Cedar Falls. He was a 1959 graduate of Mt. Morris High School and worked in the automotive industry sales and service department for fifty years, retiring in 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Klapprodt, of Cedar Falls; his son, Darrin (Debbie) Klapprodt, of Arlington Heights, Illinois; his daughter, Nikki (Craig) Voelker, of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a sister, Sandy (Doug) Rowe, of Oregon, Illinois.Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
