Gary Jacob Cole

Gary Jacob Cole, 64, of Waterloo, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.  Gary was born April 18, 1953 in Waterloo, the son of Isreel Jacob & Alice Marie (Bishop) Cole.  He married Kay Matthias February 20, 1976 in Galena, Illinois.  Gary was a machine operator at the John Deere Engine works for 34 years, retiring in 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Cole of Waterloo; his son, Joshua Michael (Lynn) Cole of Naperville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Evie Isbella, Samuel Jacob and soon to arrive, Thea Gabriella; and his sister, Diane (Fred) Bush of Waterloo.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Willhite, and his sister, Fern Baker.

Per Gary's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date which will be announced in the Waterloo Courier.  Memorials may be directed to the family. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements . Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

Gary was a devoted loving husband and a proud and adoring Dad and Papa.
