Garnet "Gary" Leroy Philo

Garnet "Gary" LeRoy Philo, 84, Elk Run Heights, died Monday, February 12, 2024 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital.

Gary was born April 23, 1939 in Elmira, New York to LeRoy and Frances (Sutton) Philo.  Following high school, Gary served in the US Army.  He married Kathie Kasemeier on March 14, 1970 in Galena, IL. Gary worked as a pattern maker for John Deere for 30 years retiring in 1998.

Garnet is survived by his children, Vallory (Dan) Joy of Fredonia, Kansas, Mark Philo of Waterloo, Tim (Kelley) Philo of Independence and Kimberly Whitfield of Independence; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Kathie and brother, Douglas.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
