GABE A. LEUTZINGER, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He was born July 14, 1920 at Britt, Iowa, the son of Albert and Cleo (DeWitt) Leutzinger. Gabe married Anna Marie Heiple on November 21, 1942 in Miami, Florida. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2002. Gabe graduated from Pleasantville High School and Gates Business College in Waterloo. He served with the U.S. Navy in both Miami and Trinidad during WW II. Gabe worked for Keeshin Motor Transport, Hinson Manufacturing, and Western Transportation Company. After retirement, he worked for the YMCA in Waterloo.
Survivors include his son, Larry (Jacqueline) Leutzinger, of Waterloo; three granddaughters, Jennifer Leutzinger of Missoula, Montana, Stephanie Shively of Springfield, Colorado, and Heather Leutzinger of Waverly, Iowa, and a great granddaughter, Wren, of Missoula.

Gabe was preceded in death by his parents and wife; a son, Thomas Leutzinger; a brother, Paul Leutzinger, and a sister, Phyllis Mau.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Good Shepherd Chapel, with private inurnment at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
