Fred W. Muller, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Center in Cedar Falls. He was born April 30, 1919 in Dike, Iowa, the son of Klaas and Annie (Eiklenborg) Muller. Fred married Lorraine Claassen on June 27, 1942 in Holland, Iowa. Fred worked for Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls for a short time and later worked for John Deere & Company in Waterloo for thirty-five years, retiring as an Inspector in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, of Cedar Falls; two sons, James (Mary) Muller of New Brighton, Minnesota and Robert Muller of Waterloo; two daughters, Carol (Larry) Mitchell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Brenda (David) Johnson of Denver, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Andrew (Lois) Muller of Cedar Falls, Merlyn (Kathryn) Muller of Aplington, Iowa and Wilbur (Joy) Muller of Grundy Center, Iowa, and two sisters, Grace (Alvin) Stahl of Grundy Center and Annie (Richard) Betts of Reinbeck, Iowa.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5—7:00 pm Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
