Francis Harrington

Francis Earl Harrington, 81, of Cedar Falls, died at his home on Monday, December 11, 2017.  He was born March 18, 1936 in Boone, Iowa, the son of Earl and Frances (Needham) Harrington.  Francis married Dolores Elsberry on September 11, 1955 in Boone.  She preceded him in death on December 6, 1991.  Francis married Katherine Hauser on August 14, 1999 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. He attended Boone High School and served in the Iowa National Guard. Francis was a firefighter for 28 years with the Cedar Falls Fire Department, retiring in 1994.

Francis is survived by his wife, Kathy Harrington, of Cedar Falls; his son, Jeff (Lori) Harrington, of New Hartford, Iowa and his daughter, Enola Harrington, of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Ashley and Breanna Harrington; four step children, Laurie Hauser of Cedar Falls, Karla (Norman) Stahl of Platte City, Missouri, Dave (Mary) Hauser of Plymouth, Wisconsin and Janet (Jeff) Kimball of Acworth, Georgia; his brother, Douglas (Ruth) Harrington, of Texas, and his sister, Judy Short, of Hedrick, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brian "Scott" Harrington.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
