Frances "Fran" Hedlund

Frances "Fran" L. Hedlund, 83, of Waverly, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa, after suffering a heart attack at home. She was born January 31, 1932 in Edmond, Oklahoma, the daughter of B. A. and Helen (Lovelace) Black. Fran married Robert Hedlund on February 22, 1952 at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. She was employed at Porter Camera Store in Cedar Falls for 24 years. Fran enjoyed being with her loving husband of 63 years and her children and grandchildren. They were her life. Fran was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church. Fran is survived by her husband, Robert Hedlund, of Waverly; a son, Steven (Becky) Hedlund, of Conrad, Iowa; a daughter, Jennifer (Paul) Hughson, of Burnsville, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Nick (Amy) Hedlund, Kristin (Bill) McLeland, Brandon (Molly) Hughson, Kendall Hughson and Austin Hughson; five great grandchildren, Benjamin and Conner Hedlund, Jennifer, Mikayla and Kelly McLeland, and a brother, George David Black, of Miami, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, James, Ray and Bob Black. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 57:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
