Floyd C. Danielson, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Floyd was born October 30, 1923, in Hershey, Nebraska, the son of Alfred & Alice (Runner) Danielson. He married Karen Tillotson January 24, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Floyd served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Mechanical Engineer at John Deere & Company, retiring in 1984. Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Cedar Falls; a son, Lyle (Linda) Danielson, of Johnston, Iowa; three daughters, Lynn (Wayne) Hanson, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Shelley (partner Debbie Young) Danielson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Mary Sieker, of Littleton, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Scott) Hagberg, Erin (Justin Nelson) Danielson, Megan Danielson, Derek Danielson, Justin Sieker, Andrea Sieker and Jeremy Sieker; and two great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle and Alvin Danielson, and a sister, Dorothy Miller. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with military honors conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Inurnment will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa, at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
