Everett I. Eddy, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. He was born September 16, 1918 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of Earl Walker and Florence (Sack) Eddy. Everett married Leona Lorenz in 1964 and she preceded him in death in 1973. He married Elly Hansen Sorensen on December 2, 1974 in Cedar Falls. Everett worked at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for forty years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Washburn, and was a longtime Iowa Hawkeye fan, including a membership in the I Club for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Elly, of Cedar Falls; two stepsons, Larry (Rosie) Sorensen and Bruce (Jessie) Sorensen, both of Cedar Falls; a step daughter-in-law, Jill (Gene) Dietrich, of Marengo, Iowa; six grandchildren, Gordie (Suzie) Sorensen, Gerald (Stephanie) Sorensen, Jeremy (Michelle) Sorensen, and Shari (Tad) Ritter, all of Cedar Falls, Jeff (Clara) Sorensen of Ankeny, Iowa, and Brad (Laurie) Sorensen of Waukee, Iowa; seventeen great grandchildren, Heather (Zeb) Nicholson, Kailey Kress, Ashley Sorensen, Andrew Sorensen, Sarah Kress, Samantha Sorensen, Tyler Sorensen, Hayley Ritter, Ryan Ritter, Marley Sorensen, Aiden Sorensen, Claire Sorensen, Olivia Sorensen, Sophia Sorensen, Erik Sorensen, and Kyle & Emilie Sorensen; and a brother, Eugene "Bud" Eddy, of Waterloo.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents and first wife; a son, Cecil Eddy, in infancy; a sister, Helen McDermott; a twin brother, Earl Eddy, and a step son, Leroy Sorensen.

Memorial services will be 1:30 pm Monday, September 22, 2008, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
