Evelyne Lyons

Evelyne V. Lyons, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. Evelyne was born February 4, 1924 in Otteson, Iowa, the daughter of Conlee & Ethel (Sadler) Hoag. She married William Lyons March 16, 1946 in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death January 29, 1977. Evelyne graduated from Waterloo West High School and had been employed as a clerk at John Deere and a bookkeeper at Pope Manufacturing and Denny Staebell Home Improvement. Survivors include two sons, Dane (Debbie) Lyons of Middleton, Idaho and Thomas (Debbie) Lyons of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Jayneen (J.D.) Arrasmith of Cedar Falls, eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and her brother in law, Jack Osborne of Des Moines. Evelyne was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one brother, William Hoag, and one sister, Janeth Osborne. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service time Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
