Evelyn Reifsteck

EVELYN ROBERTA REIFSTECK, 81, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Lake View Landing in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born May 2, 1925 at Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Byron and Marge (Barnes) Miller. Evelyn married William C. Reifsteck on February 18, 1944 at West Hampton Beach, Long Island, New York. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1991. Evelyn was a graduate of Waterloo East High School and was the Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church secretary for twenty-six years. She was also a church elder and a member in the Covenant Medical Center Auxiliary. Evelyn was an Elklet in the Waterloo Elks Club, a member of PEO Chapter LK and a member in the John Deere Supervisors Club. She sang in the Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church Choir and the Village Voices Choir at Friendship Village in Waterloo.

Survivors include her son, Rod (Deanna) Reifsteck, of Elysian, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Eckert of Middletown, Wisconsin and Chris Reifsteck of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two great grandchildren, Andrea and Mason Eckert; a brother, Larry (Bobbi) Miller, of Fallbrook, California, and a sister, Marilyn Burdette, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial services will be 10:30 am Monday, April 23, 2007, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, withinurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein, Iowa. Visitation will be 46:00 pm Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Friendship Village Memorial Fund or Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.
