Evelyn M Lee

Evalyn M. Lee, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.  She was born March 12, 1919 in Nashua, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Nellie (Watkins) Shufelt.  Evalyn married Melvin Lee on November 16, 1954 in Austin, Minnesota.  He preceded her in death on November 12, 1991.  Evalyn was a graduate of Charles City High School and was a secretary for over thirty years, most recently for Lark Gable at the President Hotel in Waterloo, retiring in 1968.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Gibson, of Cedar Falls, two grandchildren, Jonathan and Michael Gibson, both of Cedar Falls, and three great grandchildren, Michael Gibson, Jr., Jared Gibson and Cadence Gibson.

Evalyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a granddaughter, Nicole Gibson, a brother, Max Shufelt, and three sisters, Geraldine Simmons, Doreen Kellogg, and Dorothy Boyle.

Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Waterloo Cemetery.  Visitation will be 11:00 am—1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.  A memorial fund will be established at a later date.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
