Eunice C. Larsen, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. She was born March 19, 1925, in Royal, Iowa, the daughter of N. C. and Martha (Neve) Carlsen. Eunice married Rev. Homer Larsen on June 12, 1947 in Blair, Nebraska. She graduated from Dana College, Blair, Nebraska, with a B A in English. Eunice loved to teach. Her first job was teaching junior high in Blair. Later, along with Darlene Surface, she started the preschool at Nazareth Lutheran Church. Eunice was passionate about studying and teaching the Bible. For many years she taught the Bethel Bible Series, adult Sunday School, and led women's retreats. Eunice is survived by her husband, Rev. Homer Larsen, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Natalie (Bob) Gehringer, of Menasha, Wisconsin, and Julie (Steve) Kramer, of Lakeland, Minnesota; one son, John (Laurie) Larsen, of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Lea Gehringer, Dane (Lauren) Gehringer, Sam Kramer, Martha Kramer,Tim Larsen, Mark Larsen, and Sarah Larsen; one great grandson, Benjamin Gehringer, and one brother, Niels Carlsen of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church.
