EUGENE L. "BIG GENE" KRUSE, 62, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born November 24, 1944 at Davenport, Iowa, the son of Leonard H. and Erna (Butterbrodt) Kruse. Gene married Victoria Watton in 1969 and they were later divorced. He married Barbara Mullesch on November 22, 1972 at Hudson, Iowa. Gene worked for the City of Cedar Falls Street Department, retiring in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kruse, of Cedar Falls; one son, Thomas (Lynn) Jarrett, of Davenport, Iowa and three grandchildren, Anthony, Cassidy and Emiley Jarrett.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karrie Ann Kruse, and one nephew, Michael Mullesch.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before services on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
