Ethel B Jones

Ethel B. "Oh Gosh" Jones, 91, of New Hartford, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at her home.  Ethel was born September 3, 1920, at Shell Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Allan & Sylvia (Smith) Brogue.  She married Arthur Jones July 15, 1939 in Princeton, Missouri.  He preceded her in death July 17, 1997.  Ethel farmed with her husband for 32 years in the New Hartford area.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Dawn (Rick) Chase, of New Hartford; three great grandchildren, Stephen, Stephanie and Tyler; two great great grandchildren, Lucas and Kayden; three sisters, Annabelle Oleson, of Evansdale, Ruth Brown and Helen Bray, both of Cambridge, Minnesota; and her special friend, Tom Schrage, of New Hartford.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one son, Darold Jones; two brothers, Roger Brogue and Allan Brogue, in infancy, and one sister, Rebecca Brogue, in infancy.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, at New Hartford United Methodist Church with inurnment at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
