Esther Jeanette Cook

Esther Jeanette Cook, 98, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday June 19, 2015 at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. She was born July 30, 1916 in Grundy County near Cedar Falls, the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Bickner) Mathes. She married Clyde K. Cook May 21, 1933 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death January 17, 2001. She is survived by four daughters, Jeanette (Wayne) Ware, of Cedar Falls, Joyce (Jess) Caughron, of Waterloo, Janice (Ron) Heth, of Cedar Falls, and Jeri Ann Cook (Bob Makinster), of Rockford, Iowa; one son-in-law, Robert Babcock, of Cedar Falls; sixteen grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Joan Babcock, three grandchildren and three sisters. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Washington Chapel Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before service on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
