ERWIN OLTMANN, 69, of Cedar Falls died Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Erwin was born May 13, 1937 at Allison, Iowa, the son of John & Anna (Johnson) Oltmann. He graduated from Allison High School in 1955 and served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He married Betty Jean Feldman March 31, 1957 at First Presbyterian Church in Greene, Iowa. Erwin was employed as a Dyno Operator at John Deere for 39 years retiring in August of 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Cedar Falls; three sons, Jeff (Deb) Oltmann of Cedar Falls, Kent Oltmann of Denver, Iowa and Ross (Kim) Oltmann of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan, Aaron and Taylor; and two brothers, Dennis (Janet) Oltmann of Westminster, Colorado and Merrill (Diane) Oltmann of Evansdale. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews in infancy.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church with interment at Fairview Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
