Emly Steege

Emly Steege, 95, of Cedar Falls, died, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls. She was born January 10,1919 in Denver, Iowa, the daughter of C. F. and Caroline (Stolte) Boedeker. She married Harold H. Steege March 18, 1942 in Santa Anna, California. He preceded her in death January 20, 1978. Emly was a custodian for 30 years at Fredsville Lutheran Church, retiring in 1999. Emly is survived by two sons, Dean (Onalee) Steege and Glenn (Carol) Steege, both of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Laura Steege, Nathan (Jennifer) Steege, Matthew (Jessi) Steege, and Nick (Amanda) Steege, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, five brothers, Ernst, Walter, Henry, Hugo, and Martin Boedeker; four sisters, Frida Boedeker, Ida Burkhardt, Bertha Doepke, and Esther Mitchell. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Fredsville Lutheran Church with burial in the Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church on Monday.
