Elsie Ford

Elsie Marie Ford, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Unity Point-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She was born May 12, 1929 in Protivin, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Pizinger) Komarek. Elsie married Erwin Ford on July 12, 1949 in Protivin. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1999. Elsie was a 1947 graduate of Rudolphinum High School in Protivin. Survivors include six sons, Dale (Heidi) Ford of Eagan, Minnesota, Roy (Tina) Ford, Danny (Nancy) Ford, Randy (Sheila K.) Ford and Darwin Ford, all of Cedar Falls, and Roland (Sheila M.) Ford of Denver, Iowa; two daughters, Julie Baker of Cedar Falls and Jolene (Bob) Pierson of Waterloo, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a daughter, Linda Ford; two great grandsons; two sisters, Georgene Pecinovsky and Marcie Lukes, and a son-in-law, George Baker. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 57:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 4:30 pm Rosary Service and a 7:00 pm Vigil Service will be conducted.
