Elnora L. Brewster

Elnora L. Brewster, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. She was born September 5, 1926 in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of August George and Adelia Louise (Vonderohe) Burmester. Elnora married Harold Brewster on December 12, 1954 in Hampton, Iowa. She attended Hampton schools and graduated in 1949 from Pitze's Beauty School in Waterloo. Elnora worked for many years at the Beauty School and then worked in the cafeteria at Cedar Falls High School, retiring in 1988.

Elnora is survived by her husband, Harold Brewster, of Cedar Falls; her son, Dennis (Joy Gladwin) Brewster, of Las Vegas, Nevada; her two daughters, Debra (Darrell) Lindaman of New Hartford, Iowa and Denise (Klaus) Fink of Springfield, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a step-sister, Dorothy Fink, of Hampton, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Deanne Swann; her brother, Norman Burmester, and several step-brothers and step-sisters.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5—7:00 pm Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church.
