Elma L. Wymore, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Elma was born June 11, 1925 in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the daughter of Howard & Flossie (Renslow) Grapes and was the adopted daughter of James A. Weltz. She married Kenneth Wymore April 4, 1948 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death December 1, 2000. Elma was a employed at Rankin Manufacturing for 4 years, S. S. Kresge 5 & 10 Store for 10 years, Clean Towel Service for 5 years, Hawkeye Photo for 5 years, and Black's Department Store for 10 years.
Survivors include two sons, Ken R. "K.R." (Ellie) Wymore, II of Cedar Falls and Scott J. (Connie) Wymore of Stout; her daughter, Alice E. (Jerry) Neith of Denver, Iowa; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; five brothers-in-law, Keith Wymore, Larry Wymore, Ronald Wymore, Robert Wymore and James Wethington and a sister-in-law, Sandy Weltz.
Elma was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her stepfather, James A. Weltz; her stepmother, Ruby Grapes; three brothers, Howard E. Grapes, Ronald T. Weltz and Donald J. Weltz; and her sister, Juanita I. (Grapes) Wethington.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls with burial at Poyner Township Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
