Ellen A. Pohl, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, November 27, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.  She was born January 26, 1938 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of George Henry and Ethel Frieda (Johnson) Pohl.  Ellen graduated from Cedar Falls High School and Pitzes Beauty School in Waterloo.  She was a cosmetologist for 49 years, retiring in 2007.  Ellen was a member of Cosmetologists & Barbers of Iowa, where she was past president for 10 years of the Waterloo Magnificent Seven Chapter.  She was also past chairperson of the Iowa Cosmetologists Educators and a member of the Cedar Falls Community Theatre.

She is survived by her two sisters, Donna Pohl and Esther Marie (Jim) Trask, both of Cedar Falls, and two nieces, Kimberly (Jay) Llewellyn and Kristi (Jeff) Clements, both of Cedar Falls.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, at Orchard Hill Church (Door G), with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, at Orchard Hill Church Atrium (Door E), and one hour before service at the church sanctuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
