Eleanor Ann Parker

Eleanor Ann Parker, 90, Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Deery Suites with her son by her side.

Eleanor was born December 25, 1934 in Harper to the late George and Helen (Riordan) Herr.  Following her graduation from Thornburg High School, she went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College (UNI).  Eleanor married Robert G. Parker on July 1, 1956 in Sigourney, Iowa.  She worked in offices and accounting and later in the Cedar Falls School system as an aide.  Eleanor and Robert celebrated 51 loving years together before his death on November 2, 2007.

In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed playing golf, working in her flower garden and quietly reading a good book.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Carol) Parker of Lewis Center, OH; grandchildren, Joel (Shawna) Swain of Bondurant, IA, Megan (Jordan) Zmick of Glenview, IL, Jordan (Emily Kinlaw) Parker of Seattle, WA, Carlie (Andrew) Baughman of Lewis Center, OH, Mackenzie (Zach) Clark of Canton, OH, and Ashley (Jake Moore) Parker of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Austin, Isla, Charlie, Kennedy and Emerson; sister-in-law, Margaret Herr; cousins, Robert Herr, Gary Herr, Pam Herr, William "Butch" Parker, Linda Wibben and Brian Parker; extended family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Herr and cousin, Chris Parker.

The funeral service for Eleanor will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be directed to Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church .
