ELEANOR M. CHRISTIANSEN,
90, of Cedar Falls died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. Eleanor was born December 31, 1914 in Black Hawk County, Iowa the daughter of Edward & Marie (Andorf) Brandhorst. She married Herbert Christiansen February 22, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson. They farmed in the Dike area from the time of their marriage until retiring in 1969 and moving into Dike. Herbert preceded her in death July 22, 1984.
Survivors include her son, Charles (Erma) Christensen of Dike; four grandchildren, Denise (Tim) Nagel, Douglas Christiansen, Cheryl (Joseph) Kremer and Carla (Dan) Johnson; eleven great grandchildren her brother, Edward Brandhorst of Hudson, Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Brandhorst, also of Hudson. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Earl and Donald Brandhorst.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
