Edward James Stow, 87, Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Pinnacle Specialty Care under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice.
Ed was born December 22, 1936 at home in Janesville to the late Walter and Annie Mae (Reiter) Stow. He graduated from Dike High School in 1957 and went on to Gates Business College and later earned his real estate license. Ed married the love of his life, Nola Lee Tener, on September 14, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Over the years, Ed worked for Rath Packing, John Deere, as a real estate agent for many years and working in maintenance at Tyson for 10 years retiring in 2010.
Ed enjoyed picnics with family and peaceful Sunday afternoon car rides. He liked to read the morning newspaper to keep up on recent real estate ads and his morning coffee with friends at McDonalds. Ed loved anything strawberry, especially milk shakes!
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 66 years, Nola Lee; sons, James (Cindy) of Janesville and Rodney (Marina) of Zaragoza, Spain; son-in-law, Denis Bookout of Arkansas; grandchildren, Jamie (Brian) Fulton of Dunkerton, Zach Stow of Minneapolis, MN, Ashley Stow of Janesville, Brad (Shana) Bookout of Arkansas and Brent Bookout of Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Logan Fulton, Brenna Fulton, Radley Fulton, Alexia Bookout, Kendall Bookout and Brooklyn Bookout; brother-in-law, Les (Kathy) Palmer and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, La Jeana Rae Bookout and sister, Delores Palmer.
The funeral service for Ed will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall (1302 Walnut Street, Cedar Falls). Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, September 13 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home; resuming one hour before the service at church on Saturday. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is assisting the family.
