Edward Lee Seufferlein, 77, of Cedar Falls, died at his home on Thursday, July 11, 2013. He was born June 13, 1936 in Cedar Falls, the son of Erie Frederick and Hazel Rae (Roush) Seufferlein. Edward married Carol Powell on September 12, 1959 in Pomona, California. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School and served two years in both Guam and Alaska with the U.S. Navy Seabees. Edward worked for many years at Petersen Construction, retiring in 1999. Survivors include his wife, Carol Seufferlein, of Cedar Falls; four sons, James (Deborah) Seufferlein of Atlanta, Georgia, Terry (Catherine) Seufferlein of York, Nebraska, Daniel (Tamara) Seufferlein of North Liberty, Iowa and Steven (Mesha) Seufferlein of Clear Lake, Iowa; six grandchildren, Lindsey (Lawson) Soward & Grant, Christopher, Michael, Arthur and Elliot Seufferlein, and two brothers, Ronald (Barb) Seufferlein of Unionville, Missouri and Kenneth (Donna) Seufferlein of Washburn, Iowa. Edward was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at Cedarloo Church of Christ, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
