EARNEST FISHER, JR.,
66, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Saturday, November 6, 2004, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born March 8, 1938 in Lexington, Mississippi, the son of Earnest and Murry (Mickey) Fisher. Earnest married Johnnie Mae Hammonds on November 18, 1958 at Miami, Florida. He was a machinist with John Deere & Company in Waterloo for thirty-five years, retiring in 1991.
Earnest is survived by his wife, Johnnie, of Waterloo; two sons, Earnest Lee Fisher of Waterloo and Robert Craig (Patricia) Fisher of Perris, California; his father, Earnest Fisher, Sr. of Lexington, Mississippi; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Lesly (Robbie) Fisher of Waterloo, Rev. Dale Franklin (Sarah) Fisher of Lexington, Mississippi and Herman Fisher of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Georgia A. Riley of Denver, Colorado and Emma Jean (Ray) Brooks of Lexington, Mississippi; an adopted sister, Lillie Hoskins of Waterloo; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Jones of Augusta, Georgia and Willene Lindsey of Pacoima, California; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Hammonds and Curtis (Laura Mae) Hammonds, both of Augusta, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; two brothers, Henry and Harold Fisher; and three sisters, Anna Lee Fisher, Murlene Pickens and Magnolia Taylor.
Funeral services were 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2004, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with interment at Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to the family.
