Duane Harold Judisch

Duane Harold Judisch, 85, Cedar Falls, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Duane was born April 30, 1939 in rural Sumner to the late Paul and Esther (Sommerfelt) Judisch.  Following his graduation from Tripoli High School, Duane honorably served in the US Marine Corps.  Duane married the love of his life, Judy Kiefer, on October 14, 1962 in Tripoli.  The couple was blessed with two children: Brent and Tera.  He worked for Nestle in Waverly for 35 years as a lift truck driver, retiring in 2001.  He then drove semi hauling corn on the farm.  Duane also served on the board for the Teamsters 650 Credit Union, Habitat for Humanity, as well as the board of directors for Maple Hills Country Club in Tripoli and was a lifetime member of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49.

Duane and Judy were loyal Hawkeye football fans, having season tickets for 40 years.  The couple loved to cut a rug on the dance floor.  For the past 20 years, they enjoyed going to the UNI Men's Basketball games.  He has been a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church for over 20 years.

Duane is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Judy; children Brent (Lisa) Judisch of Cedar Falls and Tera (TJ) Norton of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Alex, Madie, Ellie and Bryce; great-grandchildren, Brady and Owen; siblings, Pauline Frahm of Denver, Don (Truly) Judisch of Clive, Larry (Diana) Judisch of Waverly, and Lawain (Marcia) Judisch of Tripoli; and extended family and friends.

Duane's visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, February 27 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home; resuming at 9:30 AM on Friday at the church until the time of service.  The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 28 at St. John Lutheran Church, 715 College Street, Cedar Falls.  Committal will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
