Duane Buss

Duane "Slim" Buss, 62, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born March 5, 1951 in Waterloo, the son of Donald and Helen (Christiansen) Buss. Duane married Jeanne Folkers on March 27, 1976 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Edison Jr. High School, graduated in 1969 from Waterloo West High School and attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology for two years. Duane was a Lead Person at Iowa Laser Technology for fifteen years. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Buss, of Cedar Falls; his son, Jeremy Buss, of Waterloo; three daughters, Jessica Mitchell of Dunkerton, Crystal (Jeffrey) Brown of Cedar Falls and Melissa Buss of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; a brother, Doug Buss, of Waterloo, and a sister, Patricia (Manuel) Gomez, of Texas. Duane was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.
