Dorthie M. Hook

Dorthie M. Hook, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Windhaven Western Home Communities. She was born July 2, 1925 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Nels and Julia (Hansen) Skaarup. Dorthie married Grant Hook April 25, 1947 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls and he preceded her in death October 21, 2015. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Dorthie worked for USAA Insurance for many years in San Antonio, Texas.

Dorthie is survived by one sister, Anita Haynes of Zachary, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Alyce Ruffcorn.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
