Dorothy Simpson

DOROTHY (WOOD) SIMPSON was born July 8, 1930 at Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur & Viola (McLeish) Wood. She married Duane A. Simpson August 5, 1948 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death December 14, 1994. She was a 1948 graduate of Cedar Falls High School. Dorothy died Friday, April 3, 2003, at her home at 72 years of age.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Kathy) Simpson of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Barbara Overmann of Cedar Falls and Marjorie (Mark) Kloster of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one brother, Kenneth Wood of Cedar Falls. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Darlene Prange.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice.
