Dorothy E Lofstuen

Dorothy E. Lofstuen, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Allen Memorial Hospital, of complications from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on September 30.  She was born June 7, 1927 in Owatonna, Minnesota, the daughter of Theodore and Pearl (Blastervold) Olson.  Dorothy married Leonard H. Lofstuen on October 9, 1948 in Austin, Minnesota.  He preceded her in death on June 14, 1987.  Dorothy was a homemaker and worked for many years at the Cedar Falls Woolworth Department Store, retiring in 1988.  She was a member of the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Auxilliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Dee (Don) Leopard of Madison, Wisconsin and Linda Wahner of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, DJ (Cass) Leopard of Madison, Wisconsin, Jason (Jo) Wahner of Cedar Falls, Beth (Greg) Shafer of Cedar Falls, Amber (Eric) Dreesman of Tripoli, Iowa and Jordan Shafer of Cedar Falls; four great grandchildren, Abby, Brooke & Zach Dreesman and Mya Shafer-Smith; a brother, Roger "Curt" (Christy) Olson of Washburn, Iowa; two sisters, Ruth (Roy) Schumacher and Sandy (Norm) Antijunti, both of Rapid City, South Dakota, and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a daughter, Judy Shafer; four brothers, Dick,  Don, Ted Jr. "JR", and Bob Olson, and a sister, Beverly Olson.

Services will be 10:30 am Monday, November 8, 2010, at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 4—8:00 pm Sunday, November 7, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with family present from 4—6:00 pm.  Visitation also one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family, with the funds to be given to a local breast cancer coalition.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
