DOROTHY MAE GUTKNECHT was born on October 5, 1936 at Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Helene (Gutchall ) Boring. She married Luallen (Woody) Woodworth and they were later divorced. She then married Carl Gutknecht on December 6, 1971 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Dorothy died Friday, October 24, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, Iowa, at the age of 67 years.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, of Oelwein; three daughters, Janette (Edward) Brown of Oelwein, Becky (Jerry) Lathrop of Waterloo, Iowa and Robin Allen of Oelwein; one stepson, Dan (Leah) Gutknecht of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three step daughters, Carla (Frank) Jonta of Cedar Falls, Linda (P.A.) Toms of Rockford, Illinois and Lori Gutknecht of Des Moines, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Webber and Jane Ackerson, both of Waterloo and June (Harley) Harms of Upsla, Minnesota. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Claire Shouse.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, both in rural Hudson, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.
