Dorothy M. Brandhorst, 94, of Dike, Iowa, died Friday, October 15, 2010, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Dorothy was born August 5, 1916 on a farm near New Hartford, the daughter of Herman & Minnie (Kroemer) Henningsen. She married Ernest G. Brandhorst October 16, 1938 at Fredsville Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death December 31, 1993.
Survivors include her son, Cliff (Tena) Brandhorst, of Shorewood, Minnesota; her daughter, Lori (Bill) Gutknecht, of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Colin Brandhorst, Alan (Jessica) Brandhorst, Elsa Brandhorst, Jared (Heather) Gutknecht, Luke Gutknecht, Brett Gutknecht, and Marissa Gutknecht; and her sister, Marlys Bowers, of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Velma Stevenson.
Private family services will be held. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Guestbook
