DORIS GAYLE
MAAG, 95, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center. She was born February 24, 1910 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of David and Maybelle (Pashby) Saul. Doris married Louis John Nass on April 28, 1934 and they were later divorced. She married Francis Walter Maag on February 23, 1946 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Francis preceded her in death on March 7, 1986. Doris worked all her adult life at numerous businesses in Cedar Falls. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls and The Royal Neighbors of America. Doris volunteered for many years for the Sartori Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her two sons, Gale Maag of Waterloo and David (Sandra) Nass of Lenoir City, Tennessee; her daughter, Bonnie Fries of Englewood, Colorado; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Iris (Leonard) Hansen of Janesville, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Verda Maag of Cedar Falls.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Straight; five brothers, Elwood, Clark, Kenneth, Donald and Robert Saul; and two sisters, Fern and Harriet Saul.
A Gathering of Remembrance was 4—6:00 pm Friday, August 5, at LaFavre Lounge, First United Methodist Church, in Cedar Falls.
