Doris J Grieger

Doris J. Grieger, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. She was born June 26, 1920 in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of  George and Elizabeth (Fick) Eltjes.  Doris married Jack Grieger August 8, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee.  She graduated from Aplington High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI).   Doris worked for many years at Montgomery Ward in the credit catalog department, before her retirement.

Doris is survived by her husband, Jack Grieger, of Cedar Falls; one son, David (Pam) Grieger, of St.  Peters, Missouri; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her daughter-in-law, Jackie Grieger, of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Douglas Grieger, and one brother, John Eltjes.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December  23, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum, Waterloo, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the church.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
