Dorene (Granny) F. Selleck, 82, of Cedar Falls, died  Friday, March 30, 2017 at Unity Point Health Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. She was born September 8, 1934 in Iowa City, the daughter of Fred and Martha (Cannon) Hartke Sr. Dorene married Jack Selleck December 15, 1951 at Nashua.  He preceded her in death November 9, 1992. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Dorene was an all American in 1968 with (ISHA) International Show Horse Association. She loved spending summers on the Mississippi  fishing with family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Ronnie (Sara) Selleck and one daughter, Peggy Stewart, both of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Chris (Patty) North, Mike North, Jessica Selleck, and Jennifer Selleck: three great grandchildren;  two brothers, Fred (Fran) Hartke, of Waterloo and Frank Hartke, of Cedar Rapids, and one sister, Betty (Harold) Nelson, of Lorton, Virginia.

Dorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Ralph Hartke.

Celebration of life gathering will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Washburn. Private committal will be in Orange Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,  memorials may be directed St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
