Donovan Frank Meehan

Donovan F. Meehan, 69, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center. He was born February 25, 1943, at Dumont, Iowa, the son of Lowell and Edna Sarah (Clemens) Meehan. He married Dona K. Hudson July 11, 1965. She preceded him in death April 17, 1996. He married Dorothy Moore December 23, 2006. He worked for John Deere as a purchasing agent and retired in 2001. Don is survived by his wife Dorothy Meehan, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kristen (Chad) Remmert and Cynthia Meehan, both of Cedar Falls; one step daughter, Sarah (Bryce) Richter, of Cherokee, Iowa; one step son, Paul Yarns, of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob, and Sydney Remmert and Zak Bussey; two step grandchildren, Brynn and Keira Richter; one brother, James (Julie Nelson) Meehan, of Cedar Falls, and one sister, Susan (Mike) Murphy, of Cocoa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dona. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Dumont Cemetery, Dumont. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church on Monday. Memorials may be directed to Covenant Medical Center.
