Donald W. Unger

Donald W. Unger, 99, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center in Cedar Falls. He was born February 6, 1915, in Avoca, Iowa, the son of Samuel and Lavena (Mills) Unger. Donald was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Medical Corps. Donald worked for Birntex as a printer for 32 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of First Evangelical Free Church. Donald is survived by several nieces and nephews, including David (Claudia) Unger of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edwin, Ralph and Kenneth Unger, and two sisters, Lois and Eunice. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
