Donald Ray Turner, Jr.

Donald Ray Turner, Jr., 63, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.  He was born September 23, 1954 in Waterloo, the son of Donald Ray Turner, Sr. and LaVonne (Averill) Turner.  Don married Vickie RaNae Rhoades on December 1, 1973.  He was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and Hawkeye Community College.  Don served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was an electronics technician for many years at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls, retiring in 2007.

Don is survived by his wife, Vickie Turner, of Cedar Falls; his two sons, Wes (Kris) Turner of Postville, Iowa and Caleb (Lindsey) Turner of Waterloo; three grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Pat) Turner of Cedar Falls and Jeff (Diane) Turner of Decorah, Iowa; a sister, Cindy (Joe) Moody, of Cedar Falls, and his sister-in-law, Merryl Turner, of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tom and Robert Turner.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Visitation will be 3—7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be donated to local charities.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
