Donald T Sampson

DONALD T. SAMPSON, SR. was born November 19, 1901 in Hamilton, Missouri, the son of William Chapman and Addie Marion (Wright) Sampson. He married Amanda M. Stromer on January 3, 1923 in Waterloo, Iowa. She preceded him death on August 17, 1996. Donald was employed at Hedford Foundry in Waterloo for over 20 years; Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls for many years; and retired with Roskamp Manufacturing after 25 years of employment. He died Thursday, October 28, 1999, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 97 years of age.

Donald is survived by his children, William Sampson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Carol Kelley of Cedar Falls; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; two sons, Donald Sampson, Jr. and Virgil Sampson; a granddaughter, Virginia Sampson; three brothers, Edmond, Harold and Richard; and a sister, Georgia.
