Donald D Peters

Donald D.  Peters, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at his residence.  Don was born March 27, 1937 at Holland, Iowa, the son of John J. & Elizabeth (Hillygus) Peters.  He married Norma Boysen January 13, 1962 in Cedar Falls and they later separated.  Don served in the U. S. Army and was employed at John Deere in Waterloo from 1960 to 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Cedar Falls; one son, Mark (Frank) Peters of Sacramento, California; one daughter, Karla (Shawn) Chestnut of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, Theresa, Nick, Ellie, Gabe, Anna and Hope Chestnut; two great grandchildren, Daylynn and Talan; two brothers, Ivan (Becky) Peters of Batavia, Iowa and Ronald (Sharon) Peters of Tripoli, Iowa; two sisters, Lois (Andrew) Muller of Cedar Falls and Marian Bundy of Cedar Falls; one brother in law, Vernon Petersen of Dike, three sister in laws, Minnie Klingenborg of LeRoy, Minnesota, LaVerne Peters of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Karen Casto of West Virginia.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Herbert, Duane, Edwin and LaVerne Peters; three sisters, Lorraine Peters, Janice Huebner, and Marlys Petersen; and two brother in laws, Jim Bundy and Kenneth Huebner.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Orchard Hill Church with burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Dike, Iowa.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Special Olympics.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
